Janis Bright is a writer and researcher specialising in housing, governance and place. She is an associate of consultancy firm HQN, Impact Officer on the Welfare Conditionality: Sanctions, Support and Behaviour Change research project and a former module leader for the Chartered Institute of Housing’s distance learning programme.
Janis has worked on a number of research projects including an international study of resident involvement, case studies of regeneration in Europe, an evaluation of homelessness strategies and analysis of high-performing organisations. Read more about the Welfare Conditionality Project.
In journalism, she has contributed to a variety of professional magazines including Inside Housing, Housing, Open, Planning and Roof. Her work has been recognised in a number of industry awards.
Janis’ PhD from Sheffield Hallam University involved research into the housing and governance situation of isolated towns.
